In the early 1960s, Brymbo Steelworks employed a Health & Safety Officer who encouraged workers to wear safety gear by holding a prize draw each week. If your name was pulled out of a hat and you were found to be wearing all the proper equipment such as your safety helmet and gauntlets, you won a prize.
