Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal Proposed World Heritage Site Consultation
Public Consultation on the nomination of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct for World Heritage Status and the Future Management of the Site
Work is progressing to nominate the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal at the end of 2007. The proposed nomination site is 11 miles long, starting at the Horseshoe Falls, near Llangollen, and continuing through to Chirk Bank. The proposed buffer zone takes in most of the Dee Valley and a wide corridor of land through to Chirk Bank.

From Monday 2 July to Friday 14 September 2007 members of the public will have an opportunity to comment on the proposals and you can choose how you wish to do this by:
- Visiting this website www.wrexham.gov.uk/aqueduct and viewing the documents below and completing the consultation questionnaire on-line.
- Visiting the following venues where copies of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct consultation document will be available for collection together with copies of the consultation questionnaire:
Wrexham Library, Chirk Library, Llangollen Library, Llangollen Museum, Ebenezer Chapel Cefn Mawr, Trevor Community Centre, Froncysyllte Community Centre, Visitor Centre at Trevor Basin, Wrexham County Borough Council Lambpit Street Main Reception and Oswestry Borough Council Offices, Castle View, Oswestry.
- Calling in to one of our 'drop-in' sessions where officers will be present to answer any Pontcysyllte Aqueduct consultation questions you may have. These are on:
- Tuesday 10th July 2007 3.30 - 7.30 p.m at Weston Rhyn Institute
- Tuesday 31st July 2007 3.30 - 7.30 p.m at Chirk Bank Methodist Church
- Wednesday 8th August 2007 10.00 a.m. - 2.00 p.m. at Froncysyllte Community Centre
- Wednesday 8th August 2007 3.00 - 7.00 p.m. at Trevor Community Centre
- Thursday 9th August 2007 2.00 - 7.00 p.m at Chirk Library
- Tuesday 14th August 2007 2.00 - 7.00 p.m at Ebenezer Chapel, Cefn Mawr
- Friday 31st August 2007 10.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m at Llangollen Library
