This remarkable object is a stirrup cup presented to Sir Watkin Williams Wynn for becoming MP for Denbighshire for the seventh time in a row. A stirrup cup is a drinking vessel used by huntsmen.

The inscription reads:

This roughly translates to:

Presented to the Mayor & Corporation of the Borough of Wrexham by John Hurleston Leche of Carden Park, Cheshire to mark the glorious return of Sir Watkin to Parliament as one of the Members for Denbighshire for the seventh time. November 27th 1868. He beat Morgan by 635 votes and Biddulph by 923.
