Souvenir Plate from Sir Watkin Williams Wynn's 21st birthday celebrations.

The inscription reads:
"In Commemoration of Sir Watkin Williams Wynn Bart., Wynnstay Attaining his Majority, 22nd May 1841"

Sir Watkin Williams Wynn, 6th Baronet (1820-85) was MP for Denbighshire for forty-four years and a landowner with an estate of 150,000 acres. He was known at the time as The Prince in Wales with more power over the people of Wales than the Prince of Wales. The last Sir Watkin Williams Wynn to live in Wynnstay was the 8th Baronet. He sold the house near Ruabon in 1947.
