Wrexham at War: Life on the Home Front

Pupils examine life on the Home-Front by seeing a simulated allotment, war related artefacts and imagery. The key topics covered are: rationing, air raids and the evacuation process, with emphasis on how Wrexham and its surrounding districts were affected.

Wrexham at War: Spin Doctor

A time in history when you couldn't gossip for fear of German spies, had to count your pennies during food rationing and make do and mend with old clothes

This session looks at the various propaganda posters and the messages behind them. In teams pupils create their own propaganda poster from main themes from the period.

This session compliments the life on the home front workshop and can be used to make a full day option.
