We have a lecture given by a guest speaker often involving embroidery followed by tea / coffee. We also have a course once a month on a Saturday (10.00am – 4.00pm) covering a variety of techniques by a guest tutor.

Description of the Activity:

Description of the Activity:

Visual Arts – Spinning, Weaving and Dyeing. Lively, friendly group (all ages), current membership approx. 50, welcomes new members and has equipment to hire. Saturday meetings have a programme of events arranged to include talks, demonstrations and workshops. The group holds annual exhibitions of work and the guild has always had members’ work selected for the National Guild’s Biennial Exhibitions. The Monday group is a more informal day where members work on their own projects and share skills.

Description of the Activity:

Our aim is to keep traditional textile crafts and skills alive – but not stagnant! We aim to progress with the times and to try new techniques and ideas whilst always aiming for the highest standards of workmanship, finish and presentation. In the main, we do not sell our work. Our ethos is to share our skills with others who are interested, thus keeping the craft alive. We are happy to talk about our work and to give demonstrations of the techniques involved.Every year we mount an exhibition of the work completed in the proceeding twelve months.

Description of the Activity:

Group 75 was set up in 1975. It is a group of professional artists working in a range of media. The group puts on an exhibition annually which tours galleries in Wales and the UK. The membership is by invitation. There is a policy of inviting guest contributors; these have included artists from USA and South Africa.

The group provides a platform for members’ works to be shown via outgoing exhibitions at local galleries and further afield. Current membership circa 40 and age profile 20 – 80 years. Watercolour Challenge Artist David Lloyd in residence providing tuition for beginners and improvers.
