Pandy
The name 'Pandy' means 'fulling mill', not surprisingly therefore, the
main building in this small hamlet is a former fulling mill. Later converted
to a public house, it straddles the bubbling River Ceiriog, as it winds
its way to meet the River Dee near Chirk. Above the hamlet towers Pandy
Rock, a superb cliff for rock climbing - with care. Just out of Pandy
at Pont y Meibion Farm is a 'monument' to Huw Morris alias 'Eos Ceiriog',
(one of the Ceiriog Valley's notable Welsh poets), renowned for his poetry
and love lyrics.
