The name 'Pandy' means 'fulling mill', not surprisingly therefore, the main building in this small hamlet is a former fulling mill. Later converted to a public house, and currently Pandy Mill Glass Studio www.pandymillgallery.com (external link), it straddles the bubbling River Ceiriog, as it winds its way to meet the River Dee near Chirk. Above the hamlet towers Pandy Rock, a superb cliff for rock climbing - with care. Just out of Pandy at Pont y Meibion Farm is a 'monument' to Huw Morris alias 'Eos Ceiriog', (one of the Ceiriog Valley's notable Welsh poets), renowned for his poetry and love lyrics.
