A bright early spring day provided perfect weather for our lantern making and storytelling, the first event on the park itself since November. |

Four airy gazebos were set up near to the cloud sculpture, where they were dramatically outlined against the horizon and easily visible from around the park, drawing people to the event. |
|
Fiona presided over tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits while Alasdair, using all his Ranger skills, helped a crowd of over fifty people to make two different kinds of lanterns, while taking pictures of the event at the same time!! |

Friends of Parklife who had come specially for the event were cheered by the good weather and proud to see the progress of their daffodil bulbs, planted at our second event, way back in last November, and now getting ready to flower for St. David's Day. New people attracted to the park by the good weather were interested to see the Parklife exhibition and our photo albums of past events. They all received leaflets about the Happy Ever After Celebration, our next and biggest public event, taking place on 3rd April. |

Children and adults alike snuggled up on Amy's cosy picnic rugs to hear the story of how Coyote and Eagle brought the sun to the Native American people. |
|
No efforts were spared in bringing to life the animals in the story. 'I have never seen a more lifelike rabbit' commented Parklife regular Timothy. Fiona, who had actually been pretending to be a coyote, smiled grimly and soldiered on!! |

After the story, everyone gathered to have their lanterns lit by Fiona and Alasdair, ready for the procession to the site of the new Meeting Place, among the silver birch trees along the cyclepath. |
|
A joyful procession followed Fiona through the trees, merrily singing the Parklife song, to the Meeting Place, which was warm and sheltered in the afternoon sun. Children collected stones to be built into the dragon wall by artist Roger Bloomfield, which Fiona lovingly carried back to the Visitors' Centre to pass on to Roger. |

Meanwhile, more hot water had been fetched by the helpful Ty Mawr Rangers, who had joined us with their Junior Rangers group, and everyone warmed up with another 'panad' before getting ready to wander happily homewards. |
A very big Thank You to everyone who came . and please don't forget to being your lantern with you on Saturday 3rd April, to join the Procession for the Opening of - The New Meeting Place!
See you all again then!
