Wrexham County Borough Council, in partnership with Groundwork Wrexham & Flintshire and Chirk Community Council, are running a path improvement project in the Community Council area. It will be jointly funded by the Countryside Council for Wales and Wrexham County Borough Council.
We will be giving the paths an initial overhaul that will include new stiles or gates, vegetation clearance and improved surfaces where needed. Priority maintenance will be given afterwards as long as local volunteers can walk the paths twice a year, report any problems and cut back minor vegetation as part of an “adopt a path” scheme.
No survey experience is necessary; all we require is that you like walking! You can survey just one path or as many as you like, or do you have a favourite path or circular route in the area which needs improvement?
If you want to be involved, Alison Whitley and Dave Smith are looking forward to meeting you at the Parish Hall, Holyhead Road, Chirk, LL14 5NA on Wednesday the 26th of May at 6.00pm.
Further information is available on 01978 729762.
