The SPORTLOT Minor Grant Scheme is intended to support
activities which will increase participation and improve standards of
performance in sport, particularly amongst children, women, disadvantaged
and excluded groups.
Applications for funding should be for projects which create new, additional
or improved opportunities to play sport. The scheme is designed to support
those sports which rely on expensive equipment to provide the facility
essential to the playing of the sport.
What is eligible?
Applications for the purchase of new or additional items of sports equipment
costing more than £750 and less than £10,000. Definition of
sports equipment is:-

the equipment is directly used for the playing of or training for
sport;

the equipment has a life span of five years or more;
-
the equipment is mobile and not permanently fixed.
The Sports Council for Wales will consider funding the sports development
revenue costs up to a maximum level of £750 where these are inextricably
linked to the equipment project. Examples of the kinds of revenue costs
that could be eligible are:

coach education;

small items of non-personal equipment;
-
new club or team start up costs;
-
new competitive opportunities;
-
new or additional coaching provision;
-
promotional materials.
Who is eligible?
Applications may be submitted by any bona fida and properly constituted
organisation.
