Whether you are looking to coach professionally or help at local clubs or schools. There are courses available locally to start you off. In addition, a range of courses for schoolteachers.

Nestle Teachers Courses

These courses are for qualified teachers. A specifically designed resource pack is provided to support all courses. A certificate of attendance is issued!

  • Key Stage 1/2 (Mini Tennis)

    A 4 hour course introducing tennis at Key Stage 1/2 to Primary School Teachers and Curriculum assistants in schools linking to clubs offering all year round Mini Tennis Programmes.

  • Key Stage 2 Course

    A 2 hour course introducing tennis at Key Stage 2 to teachers and curriculum assistants

    Tutors focus on teaching tennis activity in the primary school environment in curricular and extra curricular time.

  • Key Stage 3/4 Module Course

    A 3-hour course offering two 90 minute sessions from the following: Teaching Large Mixed Ability Groups, The Game Based Approach, Techniques of the Modern Game, Singles – School Team Practices, Doubles – School Team Practices.

  • Key Stage 3/4 Course

    A 7 hour course targeting the teaching of large mixed ability groups at Key Stage 3 /4.

    Specially trained tutors focus on a variety of themes from teaching beginners to working with more advanced players and school teams.

Coach Education Courses

The LTA run a full range of courses to help develop tennis coaches that are needed to help players get more out of their tennis.

  • Tennis Assistant Course

    The Tennis Assistant Course is the first of the LTA Coach Education Courses. It is aimed at those interested in assisting in the development of tennis in clubs and schools. This award is a pre-requisite for the next award.

    The schedule of this course takes up 12 hours over a period of 2 days.

    Course content – Communication, Basic co-ordination, Mini Tennis, Understanding Tournaments, Organisation, Pre-school tennis, Beginner tennis.

  • MINI TENNIS ASSISTANTS & JUNIOR CLUB ASSISTANTS COURSES

    Attendants must have attended the Tennis Assistants course have an approved persons First Aid Certificate, and because the LTA has a rigorous Child Protection Policy, a Criminal Records enhanced Disclosure Certificate.
