Local schools in Wrexham have benefited from tennis development programmes. We have specially designed programmes for reception to year 6 pupils. The programme has included equipment, coaching, teacher coach education courses, after school club development, Mini Tennis Festivals and entry into Mini Tennis Tournaments.
In 2002 twenty one schools participated in the Tennis Development programme. The results from the Wrexham area are below:

As you can see above Wrexham Schools dominated the events. The Year 3 & under events continue through to a Welsh Finals stage which takes place in Llandrindod Wells. The Winners from the North Wales Year 3 & Under competition represented North Wales in the Welsh Finals. The Ceiriog Girls team won the Welsh Girls Event.
Schools involved in the Secondary schools programme have teams in the Girls and Boys Leagues in Wrexham. Coaching and help with links to Tennis Clubs and Primary Schools is available.
