A to Z of Services
The information on these pages are designed to help you with Adoption, Caring and Fostering issues.

Many people are Carers although they may not recognise this as the task they undertake. Carers are people looking after relatives or friends (though not always sharing their home) who, because of disability, illness or the effects of old age cannot manage at home without help.
Fostering is where individuals provide a caring and secure environment in their own home for other people's children and young people. Fostering can be done on a full or part-time basis and ranges from day or weekend care to a few months or even on a long-term basis. Fostering a child offers you many opportunities to make a difference in a child's life by helping to provide health, education and emotional support.
Children are our future and parents/carers are the most important people in every child’s life. By supporting parents we are hoping to give children the best possible start in life.
