Cut your Council Tax and rent payments - Council Tax and Housing Benefits
If you pay rent and/or council tax for your home and live on a low income you may be entitled to Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax Benefit, which means you could pay less for these bills.
The Welfare Rights Unit (WRU) houses a team of workers who provide advice and representation on Welfare Benefits issues.
Wrexham's Economic Development Department offers a wide range of support services for local businesses. Our business advisors have extensive experience and understand the needs and requirements of businesses of all sizes and sectors. Includes information about "ReAct", a package of support to help people who have been made redundant get back into employment as quickly as possible

CCCS - Consumer Credit Counselling Service
The consumer Credit Counselling service are a specialist national debt charity. Many debt management companies charge very high fees for their services, CCCS however is entirely for free and if necessary they can even set up a debt management plan for you. Free debt counselling can be accessed online 24/7 at CCCS Debt remedy, this is an anonymous service offering sound debt advice.
Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a national debt counselling charity working through a network of 58 centres based in local churches. National Debtline is a national telephone helpline for people with debt problems in England, Wales and Scotland. Our service is free, confidential and independent. At National Debtline we are committed to answering your call and then discussing your debt problems with you and the options available to you. The specialist advice that we give over the telephone is backed up with written self-help materials which we can send out to you for free. If your circumstances meet certain criteria, we can, if you are interested, assist in setting up a Debt Management Plan for you, for free.
