Church of St John Evangelist, RhosllannerchrugogThe Church of Saint John Evangelist is situated in a wooded churchyard near to Church Street. A Parish was founded in 1844, and the Church was built 1852-2 to designs of Thomas Penson the younger.
It is a Norman style in coursed and squared sand stone with slate roofs. It has a cruciform plan with nave, transept and chancel and bell tower in angle of south transept and chancel. The Norman style of the exterior is carried through in interior detail. It has a nave of four bays with wide crossing to transepts and chancel.
It is listed as a good example of a Romanesque Revival Church in which the stylistic vocabulary is carried through both architecture and interior fittings.
