Disabled Parking

This section provides information that will help disabled visitors to Wrexham County Borough and Borough residents to find out about disabled parking provisions within the borough.

What is the blue badge scheme?

The Blue Badge Scheme (previously the Orange Badge Scheme) is a national arrangement of parking concessions for people with walking difficulties who travel either as drivers or passengers.

The scheme also applies to registered blind people and people with very severe upper limb disabilities who regularly drive a vehicle but cannot turn a steering wheel by hand.

The scheme allows badge holders to park close to their destination however the national concessions apply to on-street parking only.

To obtain a copy of the blue badge scheme leaflet contact the Welsh Assembly Government (external link) or your local Social Services department.
