Eight Council car parks serving Wrexham town centre have been awarded Safer Parking status. Re-accreditation recognises Wrexham Council’s aim to reduce car crime and provide a safer environment for people who come to Wrexham.
The award is given to car parks that meet high standards in levels of lighting and decoration, CCTV surveillance and landscaping schemes.
The car parks are Library, St Giles, Market Street, Crescent Road, St George’s Crescent, People’s Market multi storey, Guildhall and the latest addition Waterworld, which offer car park users over 1200 parking spaces.
The secured car parks scheme is operated by the British Parking Association and is supported by the police.
All Car Parks are surveyed regularly to ensure security and maintenance issues are up-to-date.
When parking, please ensure that you remove any valuables from your vehicle, make sure that nothing is on display and make sure that your windows are shut and you lock all doors.
You may hear a voice reminding you to follow security guidelines when in various car parks, don't worry!... 'Talking Signs' have been fitted as a police initiative to reduce vehicle crime.
