Road Safety Dramas and Other Grant Funded Activity

In addition to some of the projects described above, we also use the Local Road Safety Grant for other projects. In this way, we are able to target various road user groups, as appropriate.

For example, theatre in education companies have been paid to perform themed road safety dramas to both primary and secondary school pupils, using a variety of approaches, tailored to their audiences.

We have also supplied schools with educational materials to support the delivery of Road Safety.

Drivers and pedestrians have been targeted via radio advertising and publicity campaigns.

Each year, we consider which groups of road users to target and by what means, whilst always maintaining our efforts to reduce casualties amongst the most vulnerable road users (such as young drivers and motorcyclists).
