An exhibition about the Poles who made their home in a small village in the Maelor in the years following the Second World War. The exhibition, created with the help of former residents of Penley Hospital camp and volunteers includes: • Artefacts from the former hospital and its chapel such as the reredos (a three-part artwork centred on the Madonna and Child. • A film based on archive recordings of life at the hospital in the 1960s • A slideshow of photographs of the community • A chance for younger ones to dress up in Polish style national costume, following a well-established tradition at Penley.

Make and Take

Decorate your very own dragon’s egg to take home! Session 1 10.30am – 11.15am Session 2 11.30am – 12.15pm Session 3 1.15pm – 2pm Limited spaces available for each session. Recommended for ages 3years+ £2.50 per egg Places at all events allocated on a first come first served basis unless otherwise stated. During busier times there may be a short wait. Grown-ups are asked to wait in our galleries until a staff member or volunteer lets them know a space is available. All learning sessions take place upstairs in our learning room where buggies can be parked in an allocated space. A lift is available. Children must be accompanied by an adult to all events.
