Please note that we recommended that you regularly 'save' your job application - especially when you are staying on one screen, or leaving your computer, for longer than 30 minutes. This will prevent you losing information relating to your job application. This online system is designed to log you out if the application has not been saved, or you have not clicked 'Next', for more than 30 minutes.
When you first access Online Vacancies you will be able to browse and search through all the jobs currently listed. At this point, your navigation bar will read as follows:
To be able to fully utilise the Online Vacancies you must Sign In. This will allow you to apply online for job applications and create / edit your profile to receive email alerts. Once you have signed in, your navigation bar will read as follows:
To locate a job, type your search criteria into the keyword box and choose how you would like the results displayed from the sorted by list. Click search.
To view all jobs at Wrexham County Borough Council click List All.
If you wish to apply for a job online or register for email alerts you must sign in. Click on the 'sign in' link at the top of the screen.
The following screen will appear. Click on 'New User? Click here to register'.
Now you will need to specify your email address and a password. You must confirm your password before proceeding to register.
You will receive notification on screen that you have registered and that a confirmation email will be sent to the email address provided.
If you forget your password at any time, click 'Forgot password? Click here to request one', this will send a password to your email address.
To use this service you must sign in. You can register to receive job alerts via email. Click on the 'My Profile' link at the top of the screen.
Here you will need to specify what sort of jobs (occupation groups) you are interested in being notified about, any keywords associated with particular jobs, job term and salary. If you wish to be notified by email you must provide an email address and indicate in which language you would like to receive the details. You must also fill in your full name including title. By pressing 'Save' you are registering for email alerts.
PLEASE NOTE: when choosing multiple occupational groups, you must hold down the Ctrl key.
To use this service you must sign in. When applying for a job, you can save your application at any time and return to it later. To retrieve a saved application, click on 'My Job Applications' at the top of the screen.
A list of jobs that you have applied for will be displayed. Click on the 'edit' link to go back to your application. If you have already submitted a completed job application, up to the jobs closing date you will see this listed, however, you will not be allowed to edit the form. Once the closing date for the job has passed, the job will no longer appear in the section 'My Job Applications'.
