Once you are elected you will follow an induction programme which will help you to understand your role. The programme explains council procedures and the practical skills you will need to perform your role.

It is important for members to:

  • keep up to date with developments and initiatives in the public arena 
  • maintain and enhance their knowledge and skills through experience, training and development
