On February 15 the Welsh Government announced that a £150 cost-of-living support payment will be provided to all households who either:

  • live in properties in Council Tax bands A-D
  • receive a Council Tax reduction - who live in properties in Council Tax bands (A-I)

A discretionary scheme will also be setup to help support other households who may be struggling but do not fit into the above criteria.

We understand that people in Wales are facing very real cost-of-living crisis.

If we hold the relevant information about your household to make a payment, payments should begin from April.

If your household is eligible and extra information is needed you will need to complete a short registration form.

The Council has started making payments of £150 to those who pay by Direct Debit, the majority of people who are eligible under this scheme, should have received a payment before the end of May. Those who have recently gone on Direct Debit, will receive a payment in June.

Non Direct Debit Payers - we will be contacting those eligible from Mid-June onwards inviting them to provide details so we can make a payment.

We will publish full guidance and the registration form as soon as it becomes available.

Be mindful of emails or texts from suspicious sources offering information on the scheme. It's often a scammer trying to steal your information.
