The Shopmobility service in Wrexham is run by AVOW (Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham). Manual and electric wheelchairs and scooters are available for anyone with mobility problems to use.

The electrically powered machines are designed for use on pavements and will travel at walking pace, driven by easy to use controls. If you have never used the electrical wheelchairs or scooters before, rest assured that those provided at Shopmobility Wrexham are simple to operate. Training can be provided if you are unfamiliar with this kind of equipment.

Hiring equipment

To hire equipment you must be a member of Shopmobility. Membership applications must made in person at Shopmobility (located at Wrexham Bus Station). You will need to provide two forms of identification when applying for membership - one of which must have your current address on.

Standard scooters and wheelchairs can be hired for the day for use around Wrexham city centre on a first come, first served basis.

Booty scooters (fit into the boot of a car and can therefore be taken outside of Wrexham city centre) should be pre-booked to ensure availability. You will need to book these in person and a 50% deposit is required for hires over a day.
