As the Highway Authority we have a duty under the Highways Act 1980 Section 139 to control skips placed on the adopted highway. You will need a skip permit if you want to put a skip on the adopted highway.
Apply for a skip permit
You can apply for a skip permit by completing our online form. All applications will need to be made at least seven working days in advance.
Skip permit cost
A skip permit for up to seven days costs £61 per skip. Each additional week costs £55 per skip. No refunds will be given after the start date of the permit.
What happens next?
When your application is made it will first need to be assessed to ensure its eligibility. If your application is approved you will receive email confirmation of this including any specific site requirements and a link to make the payment for the permit. Once payment has been made then your permit is live for use as permitted.
