What does the Wrexham Community Safety Partnership (CSP) do?

Wrexham CSP brings together a range of local agencies who work together to help Wrexham become a safer place to live, work in and visit. The CSP does this by staying aware of the nature of crime and disorder, anti-social behaviour and substance misuse in the county borough, and implementing effective actions to address these issues.

The membership of the CSP includes:

  • AVOW
  • Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board
  • National Probation Service
  • North Wales Area Planning Board for Substance Misuse (APB)
  • North Wales Fire and Rescue Service
  • North Wales Police
  • Wrexham County Borough Council

Local services

Hafan y Dref – night time welfare hub

Hafan y Dref aims to provide a safe space for visitors to the town centre at night, to help people with problems such as:

  • feeling unwell
  • being separated from their friends
  • having no phone battery
  • being too drunk to get home

Where needed, medical attention and support can be provided.

Location

The centre is located at the bottom of Town Hill near St Giles Car Park.

Opening times

The centre runs from 10pm to 4am on Friday and Saturday nights (as well as on other key nights in Wrexham). 

Services provided

People visiting the centre may be injured, intoxicated (from alcohol or illegal drugs) and/or vulnerable. The centre provides a combination of medical assessment, supervised recovery and discharge. 

Other services provided are pastoral care, help for rough sleepers and advice to those who are lost or need to go home. It also can provide a physical base for partners managing the local night time economy.

Funding

The hub is funded through the Welsh Ambulance Service Trust, and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, along with our own funding.
