Ways to Pay

Wrexham County Borough Council is committed to making services more user-friendly and accessible.

As part of our on-going development programme we offer a range of payment methods for Council Tax and Business Rates, Housing Rents, Sundry debts plus the ability to pay utility bills for Dee Valley Water directly, and securely, to the Council.

Please note that a fee of 2.5% will be payable on all Credit Card payments from 1 April 2014.

Direct Debit

The safest and most convenient way for you to pay is by Direct Debit. You save time and there are no cheques to write, no cash to pay, no posting letters or queuing at counters.

You can always be assured with Direct Debit that you are guaranteed an immediate refund in the unlikely event of a mistake being made.

You can get a Direct Debit mandate in one of the following three ways:

  1. Pick one up at Contact Wrexham, 16 Lord Street, Wrexham.

  2. Phone up and request one from the appropriate section on the following numbers:

  3. Print one off, complete and sign it, and drop it off at one of our offices or send it to:

    Finance Department
    Lambpit Street
    Wrexham LL11 1AR.

Online Bill Payments

This online payment facility allows you to pay bills directly, and securely, to the Council for:

  • Council Tax
  • Business Rates
  • Housing Rent
  • Debtors Invoices

Internet Banking

You can pay via your own internet banking page by quoting our bank details which are sort code 20-25-69 and number 43626725. You must ensure you quote your payment reference number.

Telephone Payments

You can make payments to Wrexham County Borough Council, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by using the digital telephone payment option.

By telephoning 0845 309 6063, and following the simple instructions, payments can be made using your credit or debit card by keying in the appropriate numbers.

This payment facility allows you to pay bills directly to the Council for:

In Person

You can pay by debit / credit card or cash if you visit Contact Wrexham at 16 Lord Street.

Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm.

Payments can also be made at your local Housing Estate Office.

Payment Cards

Payment cards are currently available to all Council tenants to pay their rent. They are also available to pay Council Tax in limited circumstances. Council Tax payers who live a Council property where their local estate office has closed down can apply to the section for a card.

The cards can be used in any Post Office or in any shop that is a Paypoint Outlet.
