Environmental Law Seminar for the Waste Industry

ENVIRONMENTAL LAW SEMINAR FOR THE WASTE INDUSTRY 5 October, 10:00 – 14:00, Chester, Cheshire Dyne Solicitors has developed a seminar based upon industry intelligence and examination of the facts. We have joined the dots so we can explain to you what is really going on. We have identified that the Environment Agency (EA) is targeting Environmental Permit holders and there is a well trodden path of behaviour leading to very serious consequences for those operators. On 5th of October our team of environmental lawyers will outline 7 key indicators that may precede prosecution or permit revocation, they will explain the appropriate actions operators can take to protect themselves and their business assets. We understand why the industry is becoming increasingly angry and frustrated at the way in which they are being regulated and targeted. Most operators do not feel like ‘customers’ of the EA – quite the reverse. In many respects this anger and frustration is borne of a failure to understand the rules of engagement and how to manage relations with the EA. We will identify the traps and pitfalls and help to empower you to better manage your relations with the regulator and take back control of the agenda and in so doing protect your business. Your business does after all operate within what is a complex and highly regulated regime. Our Seminar will explore the hot regulatory topics from the regulator’s perspective and how you can ensure your activities do not put your business on the line or in the line of fire. We also specialise in helping operators protect their position when entering into new Client relationships for procurement, service and supply agreements and how operators can best equip themselves to recover what is owed to them if a Client relationship breaks down. Our legal team will be in attendance on the day to give you one to one advice and guidance and to help you understand what is really going on and how you must change your game plan to safeguard your business. Sign up for your free place(s) at wastelaw.eventbrite.co.uk Event Topics and Schedule 9:30 – 10:00 Tea, Coffee and an informal meet and greet whilst attendees start to arrive 10:10 - 11:00 7 Key Steps Preceding Prosecution or Permit Revocation •Negatively scored CAR1 forms •EA Led Permit Variations •Enforcement Notices •Suspension Notices •Revocation Notices 11:10 – 11:15 – Tea and Coffee break 11:15 – 12:10 •Pace Interviews •Investigatory Notices •Prosecutions •Defences •Proceeds of Crime Act 12:10 – 13:00 Lunch and Networking with DSL team and attendees 12:30 – 13:15 Protecting your business from the outset. The Whitney Houston Show

Belinda Davids was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and began performing professionally at the age of 14. As a young woman Belinda had the burning desire to live out her dreams and follow in her idol’s footsteps. She took on the club circuit and her performances left many people amazed at how similar she sounded to Houston.

In 2013 Belinda Davids snagged a last minute audition for the brand new Showtime Australia production The Greatest Love of All – The Whitney Houston Show and beat out over 15,000 other applicants to take on the challenging lead role. Taking more than 80,000 tickets to date, the show has been an instant success with Davids as the marquee star. She continues to tour with the show internationally, keeping alive the music and spirit of her own musical idol - the late, great Whitney Houston.

Jason Byrne is "Propped Up!"

Jason Byrne is “Propped Up” is a brand new show from the very experienced, very funny, very highly acclaimed, very absolutely trouser wetting, very can’t watch much more as I think I’m going to die comedian. Jason now brings back his warmth and generous stagecraft with even more props and silly humour. Recently on his British and Irish tour he re-introduced his prop comedy mixed with his stand up and audience participation. THEY LOVED IT. They wanted more silly props… More giant ducks, more rubber hands, owls, big wooden pegs and amazing magic stunts.

The Boy With Tape on His Face Is...Tape Face

“AS TIMELESS AS IT IS WORDLESS, AS DISARMING AS IT IS FUNNY”
***** The Guardian

Tape Face is a character with universal appeal. Delightful, wry, many-layered and hilarious, Sam Wills accesses an inner child in us all that must be fed. Through simple, clever and charming humour aimed at satisfying that hunger, he has created one of the most accessible and enjoyable shows the world has ever seen. Drawing on a heritage that includes silent film, mime, magic, puppetry, Motown and the films of Patrick Swayze, Tape Face is a pensive, curious soul approaching every object and audience member as a potential friend – or plaything. Wills creates a world of possibilities where the only certainty is laughter. Previous shows have seen him totally sell-out at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for four years in a row. He has also had four sold-out UK tours, a smash hit run in London’s West End, and has become a critically acclaimed marvel around the world.

The Last One Standing: The Tale of Bersham Colliery

On December 18th 1986, the last tub of coal was wound to the surface at Bersham Colliery. With the closure of the last pit in the Denbighshire coalfield, a centuries-old tradition came to an end. This exhibition tells the story of coal mining through the history of one pit, that although often threatened with closure, outlasted many larger and more modern collieries. In association with the North Wales Miners Association Trust.

Timed to coincide with Wales’s first appearance at an international football finals since 1958, this exhibition chronicles the heroic endeavours of the Wales’s greatest footballers.

Lunchtime Meditation (Fridays)

Each session will include a ‘breathing meditation’ and a second meditation based on visualisation.

The purpose of the sessions is to bring peace and calm to our mind, and a relaxed feeling to our body.

Doing so helps reduce our levels of stress and builds up our emotional resilience.

It is a skill to learn and we will build up our ability to do meditation gently patiently.

PLEASE NOTE: These sessions are open to the general public and run weekly until the last Friday before Christmas 2016. If you require more information or would like to reserve your place, please contact us using the details in this listing.

Ady Jones Taekwondo in Wrexham

Students and staff at Ady Jones’ Tae Kwon Do Academy are thrilled to have a new dedicated training venue open in Wrexham. Based on Wrexham Industrial Estate, the Family Martial Arts Centre is the first of its kind to open in Wrexham, and boasts a fully matted training area of over 2,400 square feet, as well as a fully enclosed mezzanine viewing area and cafe, changing facilities and a gym area. Dedicated to providing the highest quality of coaching and instruction, Master Ady Jones has a 6th Degree Black Belt and is a multiple World, European and National Champion. Ady says: “We are opening a facility that is much needed in the area and will benefit the Wrexham community, there is nothing else comparable to it in the whole of North Wales and with Tae Kwon Do being the UK’s fastest growing Martial Art, our town and the surrounding area was in much need of a safe and positive environment for adults and children to learn this fantastic sport.” Classes are available 7 days per week, with a full timetable that caters for children aged 3 years and up through to adults. Family classes are also available, so you can spend some quality time with the kids whilst learning new skills and keeping fit at the same time. The new centre will be hosting an open weekend on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September between 10am & 4pm Ady says all are welcome to stop by for a visit and see the new facilities.
