Welsh Government Pupil Development Grant (PDG) - Access

The PDG Access Grant will be open for applications from the beginning of July 2019. The Grant value is £125 for each eligible learner with the exception of Year 7. Eligible learners in Year 7 will be entitled to £200.

What's it for?

Who can apply for it?

Parents / Guardians who have children who are entering Reception or Year 3 in Primary School or Year 7 or 10 of Secondary School in September 2019 and those children who are in the above groups who attend a special school and who attend a school in Wrexham. The grant is also available to all looked after children of compulsory school age.


When can I apply for the grant?

You can apply online from early July 2019.

The closing date is 31 December 2019

Can all parents / children get the grant?

Only parents who receive eligible benefits will be entitled to the grant or children who are looked after by the Local Authority

How much is the Grant worth?

The Grant value is £125 for Reception, Year 3, Year 10 and looked after children and £200 for Year 7.

How is it paid to parents?

The Grant is paid by BACS Transfer to the Parent/Guardians account.
