All schools in the County Borough offer the highest standard and broadest range of curriculum and extra-curriculum opportunities.

There are 72 primary, 10 secondary and 3 special sector schools. The majority of schools are located within the heart of communities where there is strong parental and family involvement in the education process.

The North East Wales Institute (NEWI) is Wrexham’s University of Wales Associate College with over 5,000 students from more than 30 countries. A University in all but name, NEWI is currently striving for such recognition.

The School of Art and Design is the leading provider of highly skilled graduates to the film and television industry in the region and one of the leaders throughout the UK.

NEWI plays a major role in the community in terms of the provision of arts and sporting facilities. It is also a base for two Welsh Development Agency 'Centres of Excellence'.

Wrexham’s renowned Yale College is one of the fastest growing tertiary colleges in Wales. Yale is regarded as a flagship institution in terms of the quality and standard of its work and offers a wide range of qualifications.
